CEO & Founder

Ash Pugh

Ash is a former educator, accreditation commissioner, and governance leader known for his expertise in teacher recruitment and safeguarding. Before founding SkoolSpot, he helped grow and lead several international education ventures, including large-scale teacher hiring platforms and alternative certification programs.

Ash co-authored the internationally adopted Recommended Screening and Recruitment Practices and has supported schools across 30+ countries in building safer, more strategic hiring systems. His thinking is informed by systems theory, strategic design thinking, and a deep belief in individual growth - shaped by the work of Peter Senge, Roger Martin, and Carol Dweck.

Rebecca Young

Rebecca is widely recognized by school leaders for her deep expertise in hiring, safeguarding and development workflows and her ability to help schools make impactful, lasting process improvements. Before co-founding SkoolSpot, she led product design and operations at one of the world’s largest teacher hiring and training platforms.

With a background in international education, systems design, development and data privacy, Rebecca brings a rare blend of practical school insight, operational strategy and system development. Her work has supported over 500 schools worldwide in building more thoughtful, resilient people systems.
